Wife of the Zamfara State Governor, Aisha Mohammed, has distributed school bags and other educational materials, to over 2,000 students at the Government Girls Day Secondary School, in Gusau, the State capital.
The state’s First Lady made the donation at the flag off of the state Girl-Child Education Project. She also donated an 18-seat school bus and five sewing machines to the school.
The First Lady said, the gesture is aimed at promoting the girl-child education, describing it as the only way to fight poverty and ensure sustainable development of the state in particular, and Nigeria in general.

The Principal of the school, Zulaiha Muhammad, and the Executive Secretary of the state Female Education Board, Barira Bagobiri, expressed delight over the visit of First Lady, l and appealed to her to also provide a borehole, to help solve the problem of inadequate water supply within the school premises.
