Ademola Lookman scored a sensational hat-trick on Wednesday as Atalanta defeated Bayer Leverkusen 3-0 to win the UEFA Europa league trophy.
Both sides brought a huge crowd of supporters and excitement to Dublin for what was Atalanta’s first European final and Leverkusen’s third.
Lookman ignited the flames of victory early in the thrilling encounter by putting Atalanta ahead in the 12th minute.

He doubled Atalanta’s lead in the 26th minute with a moment of individual brilliance.
The Nigerian completed his hat-trick in the 75th minute, to end his sensational performance.
Atalanta’s relentless attacking force proved too much to handle for Leverkusen. Despite their impressive unbeaten run, the German side were outplayed and overwhelmed.
Ademola Lookman’s hat-trick not only secured the Europa League title for Atalanta but also marked a significant milestone in his career, following a challenging season that included a Coppa Italia defeat to Juventus.
The important win also ended Atalanta’s 61-year trophy drought and killed Bayer Leverkusen’s dream of an unbeaten season.
