Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, has ordered the immediate arrest of the deposed Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero, accusing him of creating tension within the state.
This directive comes just two days after Bayero was deposed by the Governor.
According to a statement issued early Saturday morning by spokesperson for the Governor, Sanusi Bature, the former Emir was allegedly smuggled into Kano city last night in an attempt to reclaim the palace forcefully.
The statement, which was issued at 700 am this Saturday in Kano, confirmed that the new Emir, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, has arrived at the palace accompanied by the Governor, his Deputy, Speaker of the House of Assembly, and other top government officials at approximately 1.00am on Saturday.

The statement emphasised the government’s commitment to maintaining peace and order, highlighting that any actions undermining the stability of the State would be met with strict measures.
The State Government through the Deputy Governor, Aminu Gwarzo who addressed the media early this morning accused powerful forces from Abuja of being responsible for the development. Gwarzo has vowed that any attempt to force the deposed Emir on the people would be resisted.
At the moment, the attention of all Nigerians is focused on Kano State, to see how the situation will unfold.
