Bayelsa state Governor, Senator Douye Diri is appealing to all political leaders and other key actors in Rivers State to sheathe their swords and give peace a chance to enable development strive in the state
Speaking at this week’s Executive council meeting in government house Yenagoa, Governor Diri says Bayelsa is interested in partnering with her sister state to promote peace and development in the Niger Delta region.
Rivers state, in the South-South geopolitical zone of Nigeria has been on the news in recent time due to the face off between Governor Sim Fubara and his predecessor and minister of Federal Capital Territory Nyesom Wike.

Governor Douye Diri at the 129 Exco meeting of his administration warned that the ongoing crisis would only result to underdevelopment, hence his call for leaders and key players to broker peace for a more productive Rivers state.
Regarding the development of Bayelsa, Diri noted that the terrain will not deter him from developing the state.
The Governor says his administration will not relent in wooing investors that will create employment and improve the socioeconomic status of the state.
