An electrician at the Kugbo Spare Parts Market along the Abuja – Keffi Expressway has been allegedly stabbed to death by a yet-to-be-identified soldier.

The incident occurred following an argument between the two individuals, which escalated into a physical altercation leading to the death of the electrician simply identified as “Yellow”.

The incident sparked a protest by the decreased colleagues, who set ablaze the soldier’s car.

The soldier fled the scene, leaving behind a trail of chaos. A trader in the area, who wished to remain anonymous, described the situation as “fearful,” prompting shop owners to close their stores and flee for safety.

According to eyewitnesses, the soldier had brought his car to the electrician for repairs, but a disagreement ensued, leading to the stabbing. “The soldier came with his car for the electrician to work on, but after a few hours, they started arguing, and the soldier pulled out a knife to defend himself and stabbed the man to death. His car was also burnt by the deceased’s colleagues. However, calm had returned to the area after some Policemen arrived at the market”, said the trader.

Another Spare Parts dealer, who also declined to be named, corroborated the account, stating, “The soldier came to me first with his car, but I was busy, so I referred him to another person. They started arguing, which led to the electrician’s death and the burning of the soldier’s vehicle.”

The Military and the Police in Abuja were yet to make an official statement on the incident at the time of this report.
