The Gombe State Government is set to tackle the raging farmers herders crisis that has contributed immensely to food Insecurity in the state.
The state government has therefore, appealed to herders and farmers to operate within their confines in the interest of national peace and stability.
Gov. Inuwa Yahaya made the plea while flagging off the 2024 farming season.
The Gombe State Government also has incentives for farmers as 4,000 metric tonne of fertilizers would be distributed to farmers and cooperative societies in the state at a fifty percent discount.
This theme of the flag-off ceremony of this year’s farming season resonates around the interest in tackling food scarcity, Insecurity with emphasis on the age-long no love lost between farmers and herders.
With the state government’s provision of farming input, this years farming season is expected to give leverage to the return of cooperative societies in the distribution of fertilizer.
For the farmers it is a welcome development that has given hope of a bumper harvest.
