Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki has announced that a new Governing Council for the State-owned Ambrose Alli University, AAU, Ekpoma in Esan West Local Government Area will be constituted soon.

This announcement was made when he received the end of tenure report from the Special Intervention Team, SIT, set up by the State Government to look into the challenges facing the citadel of learning.

The Special Intervention Team, SIT, of the Ambrose Alli University at Ekpoma in Esan West Local Government Area was given the responsibility of tackling the myriad of challenges in the tertiary institution by the Edo State Government.

Three years after, they are here in Government house to meet with the visitor of the institution, Governor Godwin Obaseki and present to him, an end of tenure report which has a list of reforms carried out and achievements recorded during the period under review.

On his part, Governor Obaseki commends the SIT the efforts made to reposition the school to meet global standards and gives reasons why the intervention became necessary.

The Governor attributes ownership of the university to Edo people and no tribe in particular.

He is certain that the incoming governing council will ensure sustenance of the progress recorded by the SIT.
