As Ondo state Prepares for the November 16 Governorship Election, stakeholders, including Political parties have been urged to implement the various conventions and charters that recognise womens’ rights and representation through effective engagement in the political space.

The advise came over the weekend during a stakeholders’ forum where gender rights activists, including the national president of Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Aisha Ibrahim, who was represented by Vice Chairperson, Zone D, Chizoba Ogbeche, underscored the pivotal role women play in societal development.
The NAWOJ president and other speakers at the forum expressed confidence in the gender and equality bill which they say when passed into law would safeguard women against barriers and stereotypes.
They also reiterated their commitment to capacity building for women across board.
