The Ogun State Government has officially declared outbreak of Cholera in the state.
Commissioner of health Tomi Coker who disclosed this in a press conference Monday in Abeokuta explained that as at 24th, of June 2024, one person was reported dead from Cholera in the ijebu north local government area of the state.
Coker stressed that Ogun state has recorded 25 suspected cases of Cholera in 7 LGAs namely, Adoodo/Ota, Remo North, Odeda, Sagamu, Ijebu North among others

She stressed that Ogun State Ministry of Health is coordinating the outbreak in collaboration with stakeholders from the Ministry of Environment, Information, and Education, WES at the LGA (water, environment, and sanitation), RUWATSAN (Rural water and sanitation), Water corporation, Private hospital owners, Emergency services (OGSAES) and relevant stakeholders.
The state health commissioner appealed to the public to ensure proper personal hygiene always.
