IGP’s Wife Empowers Late Police Officers’ Wives In Ebonyi

The President of the Nigerian Police Officers’ Wives Association Elizabeth Egbetokun is encouraging wives of deceased Policemen and the less privileged by creating opportunities for them to overcome their challenges.

Egbetokun was speaking at an event of enlarged empowerment programme in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State, which marked her maiden visit to the Ebonyi State Police Command.

The wife of Nigeria’s Inspector General of Police, says the intervention is not only to provide financial assistances, but the skill for self-reliance and to secure better future for the families of late Police personnel, assuring them that they are not alone.

The Ebonyi State Commissioner of Police, Augustina Ogbodo, described the event as timely, while encouraging the beneficiaries to make good use of the equipment to better their lots.

The Chairperson of POWA in Ebonyi State, Miriam Anyai and some of the beneficiaries of the materials expressed delight, noting that the gesture will not be taken for granted.
