Umo Eno Pledges Support For Actualisation Of Lagos Calabar Coastal Highway

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno says the government will do everything within its reach to support the Akwa Ibom section of the 700km Lagos – Calabar coastal highway.

Governor Eno made the commitment in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom state capital at a stakeholders forum on the project.

In its ongoing consultations on the controversial 700km Lagos to Calabar coastal highway, the Minister of Works, Dave Umahi was in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom state capital to engage stakeholders from the state.

Governor Umo Eno assured of the support of his administration for the project.

Governor Eno appealed to the Federal Government to look into other federal projects requiring urgent action.

Senate President, Godswill Akpabio appreciated President Bola Tinubu for the project and appealed to people of the state to collaborate with the ministry of works to ensure smooth construction of the project.

Controversy had trailed the project with some people holding the view that it was unnecessary bearing in mind that the East- West Highway was yet to be completed several years after it was scheduled for completion.
