The last may not have been heard of the Abia State audit report allegedly indicting a former governor of the state, Okezie Ikpeazu, in the mismanagement of public funds and inability to account for 10 billion Naira budgeted for the Abia Airport Project.
The Chief Press Secretary to the former Abia Governor, Onyebuchi Ememanka, in his reaction to the audit report, said that former Governor Okezie Ikpeazu left over 3.4 billion Naira in different Government Accounts as at the time he left office which was duly captured in the audit report, including investments in the independent power plant in Aba.

He therefore advised the current administration to present any verifiable evidence against Okezie Ikpeazu to the appropriate Authorities rather than embarking on media trial of the former Abia Governor.
Onyebuchi Ememanka also noted that the people of Abia State desperately need good governance and equitable distribution and delivery of democracy dividends and not what appears to be a witch-hunt of perceived political opponents across the state.
Governor Alex Otti during a public presentation of the audit report had said that his interest was for the money appropriated for the airport to be returned and not to commit any body to prison.
