Delta LG Election: Oborevwori Promises Level Playing Ground

Three days to the Local Government elections, Delta state Governor Sheriff Oborevwori Predicts the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) sweeping all the Councillors and Chairman positions in the 25 Local governments in the state.

Governor Oborevwori who made the prediction at Cenotaph, Asaba the state Capital during a mega rally of the party commended all the PDP candidates for embarking on rigorous campaign by touching every unit and ward.

Governor Oborevwori said the commitment exhibited by the party’s candidates for the July 13th Local Government election brings to mind the way he campaigned during the last year General elections that brought him to power.

According to the governor, the mega rally has afforded him the opportunity to be part of the campaign. He thanked PDP founding fathers in the state for their unrelenting belief in the growth of the party in the state.

Gov Oborevwori used the platform to respond to allegations made by a former governorship candidate in the state’s last general election on a live television that the election would have been rigged.

The immediate past Governor Ifeanyi Okowa was not left out, he said with the oncoming Council elections, the PDP has continued to prove its unchallenging presence in Delta state

The rally which featured goodwill messages from the Speaker of the state House of Assembly Emomotimi Guwor former Senators Aguariavwodo and James Manager also saw the defection of notable members of the All Progressives Congress APC in the state to the PDP.
