2024 Green Wall Day: Environmental Agency Advocates Cleaner Cooking Surrounding

Nigerians have been called upon to key into the President Bola Tinubu’s drive for a sustainable environment by adopting cleaner cooking methods to prevent climate change and environmental degradation

The Director General of the National Agency for the Great Green Wall who made the appeal at a tree planting exercise in commemoration of the 2024 Great Green Wall Day in Kano says president Bola Tinubu should be commended for his campaign for a cleaner environment.

The 2024 Great Green Wall Day focuses on fueling a greener future, with emphasis on ensuring clean cooking for sustainable development, devoid of tree felling and other harmful environmental practices.

The Director General of the National Agency for the Great Green Wall, Yusuf Bukar who is leading key players on a tree planting exercise at the Janguza Barracks in Kano says, President Bola Tinubu has been a champion of sustainable environment culminating in the distribution of cooking gas to women in Barracks inline with the renewed hope agenda.

This event was also an opportunity to demonstrate how the water box technology plays important roles saving the lives of trees being planted for cleaner environment.

Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf who was represented at the event by the commissioner for environment and climate change frowned at the indiscriminate felling of trees across the state

The Janguza Barrack women were gifted cooking gas cylinders with a call on them to be ambassadors of clean cooking and discouraging the use of firewood
