The Charman of Nigeria’s Governors Forum and Governor of Kwara State, Abdulrazaq Abdulrahman says, the Governors are happy with the devolution of power in respect to local government autonomy as it relieves the burden on governors.
Abdulrahman noted that people don’t know how much states incure in bailing out local governments, stressing that his state is one of the states where local government chairmen are already enjoying autonomy.
He said the forum will meet next Wednesday to look at the issue wholly and then come up with a resolution.

On the issue of minimum wage, he said Governors have done their part at the tripartite committee level.
The organized labour and federal government are meeting next week to continue negotiation.
