Following the Supreme Court judgment granting financial Autonomy to Local governments across Nigeria, Oyo state Government has set up technical and legal Committees to study and review the judgement to have a smooth kick off in the state.
Briefing Journalists after a closed door stakeholders and consultative meeting held at the Governor’s office in Agodi, Ibadan some members of the Executive council say the meeting is in the interest of the people of the state to ensure smooth running of local governments.

The Supreme court ruling granting financial autonomy to Local governments has generated mixed reactions from many Nigerians, including Oyo state government
However, the state government has set up committees to review the judgment.
Though the state government says it is yet to receive a copy of the judgment from the Supreme Court but the government of Oyo state says no gap will be allowed in the administration of the affairs of local government in the state as the committees are given four to six weeks to submit their recommendations
