Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa,

Inadequate planning for a smooth transition into retirement is a key reason why many retirees struggle with economic challenges.

The Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, highlighted this at the Northwest Zone Capacity Training for Nigerian Armed Forces Veterans in Kaduna.

The three-day training on skills acquisition and entrepreneurial development for Nigerian Armed Forces veterans in the Northwest geopolitical zone, emphasize the importance of an improved standard of living.

Themed, “Empowering Veterans Through Skills Acquisition for Capacity Building and Sustainability,” the training aims to ensure that veterans lead comfortable and purposeful lives after retirement.

Conveying the Chief of Defence Staff’s message to the veterans, Brigadier General David Nwakonobi, explained that the training is a collaboration, between the Defence Headquarters, and the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria.

The goal, he said, is to educate veterans in various agricultural techniques.

The veterans expressed gratitude to the defence HQ for the training.

The training will cover areas such as fish farming, animal husbandry, poultry, livestock farming, irrigation, and marketing techniques.
