The Edo State Commissioner of police, Funsho Adegboye has promised to investigate the circumstances that led to the death of an inspector of police attached to the Governorship candidate of the All progressives Congress Onuh Akor .
The police boss while speaking to journalists at the command’s headquarters said the incident could have been avoided.
It was a crisis situation on Wednesday when some members of the All progressives congress where attacked by hoodlums around the airport while welcoming reinstated deputy governor of Edo state, Phillip Shuaibu after a court judegment in Abuja.
The attack resulted in the death of a police inspector attached to the APC Governorship candidate Monday Okpebholo while some persons sustained various degrees of injuries.
This situation has led to heightened tension and the Commissioner of police Funsho Adegboye decided to clarification to journalists.

While appealing to Edo residents to remain calm over the crisis, CP Funsho Adegboye noted that investigation is in progress to unravel the circumstances that led to the fracas and the death of a police inspector Onuh Akor attached to the APC Governorship candidate Monday Okpebholo.
He advised on the need for petitioners to exhaust all court procedures in a case of a court judgement.
The Commissioner of police used the opportunity to commiserate with the wife, children, family and friends of Inspector Onuh Akoh for their loss with a warning to criminal elements in Edo state to desist from any act capable of breaking down law and order.
