The Edo State Government says it has observed that an unsigned statement is circulating on social media purporting to appoint certain persons as aides in the Office of the Deputy Governor.
The Commissioner for Communication and Orientation, Chris Nehikhare, in a statement noted that the fake document should be disregarded while claiming that it is part of the provocative actions by the impeached Deputy Governor, Philip Shaibu, to foment crisis in the State.

He said it is clear that Philip Shaibu is hell-bent on creating a sense of chaos in the state but the Edo State Government has resolved to put his antics in check and ensure that Edo continues to run smoothly.
Nehikhare restated that Omobayo Marvellous Godwins remains the Deputy Governor of Edo State and the public should disregard what he described as the shenanigans orchestrated by Shaibu.
The Commissioner enjoined residents to go about their lawful activities and businesses as he assured them that the state government will maintain peace and order.
