Environmental Consultants have been charged to exercise highest standards of professionalism in their responsibilities of identifying, assessing and mitigating environmental impacts in Nigeria.

Director General, NESREA gave the charge in Abuja at a capacity building programme organised for
Old and newly accreditated consultants.

It’s a Hybrid refresher training for environmental consultants and the induction of 108 others newly registered by the National Environmental Standards and Regulations Enforcement Agency NESREA.

They’re here at the instance of NESREA and her partner, the European Union to gain knowledge about latest advancements in environmental science and technology for their professional development.

NESREA’s Director General, Innocent Barikor told the consultants that their engagement is a call to be vigilant and proactive in addressing environmental challenges, while collaboratling with NESREA and other stakeholders in fostering a culture of environmental responsibility and sustainability.

Established by Law in 2007, the National Environmental Standards and Regulations Enforcement Agency NESREA is saddled with the responsibility of ensuring compliance with set standards, and disciplining violators with a view to achieving a cleaner and healthier environment for Nigerians.
