Eight suspected criminals have met their waterloo as the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps NSCDC , Akwa Ibom state command arrested them for various offenses.
Parading the suspects before journalists in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom state capital, the state commandant of the corp, Eluyemi Eluwade restated the commitment of the corps to battle criminals in the state to a stand still.
The suspects were arrested for offenses such as illegal dealing in petroleum products, criminal conspiracy and vandalisation of power cables in Akwa Ibom state..
The state commandant of the NSCDC, Eluyemi Eluwade stated how men from his anti vandalism unit apprehended the suspected petroleum thieves.
Eluwade also paraded a suspect who connived with others to steal armoured cable in a transformer.
He warned members of the public against engaging in illegalities as the command would not spare anyone caught.
The state commandant called on those seeking to venture into the oil and gas business to obtain the right licenses from the Nigeria Midstream Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority, NMDPRA and always have them handy to avoid arrest.
