The Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau, NSIB has commenced probe into incident of tyre burst on Max Air plane with 119 passengers and six crew members from Yola in Adamawa State to Abuja, the nation’s capital.

The aircraft was cleared for takeoff from Yola Airport to Abuja on Sunday at about 11:22pm before its first rear gear tyres bursted. The remaining two also went the way of the initial one while attempting to taxi off the aircraft from the runway.

NSIB Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Bimbo Oladeji, in a statement made available to AIT.live said no death or injury was recorded from the incident.

The Director further explained that during the take-off roll, a loud bang was heard, identified as the bursting of the rear gear tyres, noting that A go-team, led by NSIB Director-General, Alex Badeh Jr., will visit the incident site on Monday to conduct an investigation.
