Police arrest 5 robbery suspects, recover stolen items in Nasarawa State

Police in Nasarawa State have arrested five robbery suspects for alleged burglary and motorbike theft
Police spokesperson in the state, Rahman Nansel, said the suspects were arrested at two different locations – Orozo and Karu

According to Nansel, the police received a distress call about of an armed robbery at High Tension Community, New Karu, where hoodlums in their numbers were attacking residents and dispossessing them of their belongings.

He said the Police mobilised men and moved to the scene and on sighting the security operatives, thr criminals took to their heels.

They were however given a hot chase which led to the arrest of Abubakar Nasiru 21yrs, Yusuf Abdullahi 18yrs, Bashiru Sani 35yrs, and Ibrahim Adamu all males of New Karu.

According to Nansel , two laptops, eight mobile phones of different brands, one power bank, an MP3 Player, 3 ATM cards, one Dane gun, A flat screen television set, three flash drives, one cutlass and a catapult were recovered from the suspects

In a related development, police operatives attached to Karshi Division arrested one Danjuma Mujumba, a notorious motorcycle snatcher.

A stolen motorcycle was recovered from him.

The suspect is said to have attacked an unsuspecting commercial motorcyclist and snatched his Bajaj Motorcycle before he was caught.

He said Commissioner of Police, Umar Shehu Nadada, has ordered the transfer of the suspects to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Lafia, for exhaustive investigation and prosecution.
