Nigeria’s Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Uju Kennedy Ohanenye, has continued to advocate for the restructuring of the National Loan Project across the states of the federation, to reflect present-day reality.

The minister made the appeal while in Bauchi State, North East Nigeria, when she visited Governor Bala Mohammed, to solicit his support in that regard.

The Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Uju Kennedy Ohanenye, said they were in Bauchi State to appreciate Governor Bala Mohammed, for his support, towards uplifting the lives of women and children, who are the most vulnerable groups in society, and to equally inform the governor, of her move to address some of the challenges facing Nigerian women.

Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed, appreciated the minister’s visit, and assured of his government’s support in addressing the challenges affecting women, and that the programme is in tandem with his administration’s Blueprint for Women’s Empowerment and Development.

The visit is part of the women affairs minister’s state-wide advocacy, on the need to restructure the National Women’s Loan
Project, which the World Bank assisted, to directly impact positively on the lives of women in the country.
