Nigeria and China have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening their relationship, with a focus on trade and cooperation.
China’s Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, Chen Xiao Doing, made the commitment during a visit to Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar.
Tuggar highlighted the significance of the partnership between Nigeria and China, citing Nigeria’s position as the largest country on the continent in terms of GDP and population.

He added that the partnership between Nigeria and China is one that is very important as they are both trading nations.
Chen Xiao Doing, conveyed greetings from Chinese Minister of Foreign Affairs, Wang Yi, and emphasized China’s importance on growing relations with Nigeria.

He said Nigeria is a major country in Africa and is also one of China’s key strategic partners in Africa.
Chen also looked forward to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s upcoming visit to China, stating, “I believe that the upcoming visit by President Tinubu will help further deepen the strategic partnership and strengthen the cooperation between our two countries in various fields”.
