Members of the party loyal to FCT minister Nyesom Wike have proceeded with the conduct of congress across the three hundred and nineteen wards in the state.
This is coming despite the Litany of court orders arising from the proposed state and ward congresses of the peoples Democratic party pdp in Rivers state which has been a subject of controversy due to the lingering political crisis between the state Governor Sim Fubara and the FCT minister Nyesom Wike,
The last three months in Rivers state have seen over Ten court cases and orders instituted by different groups and different courts of competent jurisdiction, with most of the Orders bothering on the legitimacy of the care taker committee of the peoples Democratic party in the state.
In the midst of the legal tussle the faction of the pdp loyal to the FCT minister Nyesom Wike remained resolute in their quest to get hold of the party’s structure ahead of the party’s National convention.
This became evident in the conduct of the ward congress supervised by delegates from the National Secretariat of the party as well as INEC officials
The Congress is coming days after the issue of contradicting orders which came from two courts of coordinate jurisdiction with one of the orders barring the Rivers pdp from going ahead with the Congress while the other was in approval of the conduct of the same Congress.
