Armed men suspected to be Boko Haram terrorists on Sunday invaded Jakana Police Station in Konduga Local Government Area of Borno State, North-East Nigeria killing a police driver and a woman friend.
The terrorists also set ablaze two patrol vehicles each belonging to the police and the Civilian Joint Task Force, as well as a motorcycle.
They were also said to have carted away some arms and ammunition.
Jakana is about 45 kilometres drive from Maiduguri, along the Damaturu-Maiduguri Expressway.
Sources confirmed that the terrorists stormed the Police Station at about midnight, where they engaged security personnel, overwhelmed them, and fled at about 3am.
Chairman of Konduga Local Government Area, Abbas Abari confirmed the incident to some journalists in a telephone call, but he said that he did not have details of the casualties as at the time of filing this report
