The Plateau State Police Command has arrested a suspect who released a video calling for violence and mayhem ahead of the planned nationwide August protest.
The suspect identified as Suleiman Yakubu, a resident of Jos North LGA of Plateau State was seen in a TikTok video inciting the public to attack security operatives and burn down critical state and private infrastructure in as part of activities for the protest.
Yakubu was arrested on Sunday after releasing a TikTok video with specific messages encouraging violence.
While in police custody, the suspect confessed to being the one in the video linked to a TikTok account, identified as “Dam-Mallam68”, calling on citizens to take advantage of the protest and set ablaze Police Divisions, Barracks, fuel stations and bakeries among other places mentioned.

The Police Command through its spokesperson, DSP Alfred Alabo further disclosed that the suspect has made useful confessions while investigation is ongoing.
The Police reminded citizens in the state that it will intensely resist any attempt by mischief makers to plunge the State into chaos.
