The Evangelical Church Winning All, (ECWA), and the Southern Kaduna Christian Leaders Association, (SKCLA), have opposed the nationwide protest planned for August 1, calling for more engagement with the Federal Government, to address ongoing challenges.

Reverend Job Bagat, the ECWA President, gave this advice on Sunday in Kafanchan, Kaduna State, during a Thanksgiving service, organised by SKCLA and the Christian Association of Nigeria, (CAN), Southern Kaduna chapter.

The Church programme aimed to pray for, and unite the people of the region, for socio-economic development was well attended by worshippers from different Christian denominations

The Chairman of SKCLA, Apostle Emmanuel Kure, along with the Catholic Bishop of Kafanchan Diocese, Most Reverend Julius Kundi and other prominent members, noted that the region has suffered series of violent attacks by bandits in recent years, and is still in the healing process.

They expressed concerns that participating in the protest could lead to further losses of lives and property.

The SKCLA called on the people to remain united, regardless of their denominational and political differences.

They also applauded Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani, for his efforts in bringing development to Southern Kaduna.

As the date for the planned nationwide bad governance and hunger protest approaches, SKCLA and ECWA emphasise the importance of dialogue and peaceful engagement with the Federal Government, urging the community to prioritise safety and unity.
