KOGI state Governor, Usman Ododo, says his administration is pushing hard to make Kogi State the epicenter of livestock production in Nigeria.
The Governor made the pledge during an interactive session with “500 Women and Youth in Poultry value-chain credit support programme” under the Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support, L-PRES, in Lokoja the State capital.
In line with the renewed hope agenda of the present administration in ensuring food security, the state governor Ododo says the Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support, L-PRES project is a giant stride in Nigeria’s drive towards food security and economic prosperity.

The Kogi Chief executive assured the World Bank supporting the L-PRES project that his administration will continue to inject projects with great political will and zeal to the benefit of the people.
The Kogi State project Coordinator, Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support, Olufemi Bolarin and the State Commissioner for agriculture and food security, Timothy Ojomah, enumerated the enormous short and long term benefits of the project.
Some of the beneficiaries of the empowerment programme commended Governor Ododo for his massive investment in agriculture.
The Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support project
is a world bank initiative aimed at improving productivity, commercialization along the livestock value chain and build resilience of targeted livestock farmers and strengthen the Country’s capacity to respond to any eligible crisis or emergency.
