Ahead of the much talked about nationwide protest against economic hardship in the country, Bayelsa state Governor, Douye Diri and the minister of state for petroleum Heineken Lokpobiri have accused some Aggrieved politicians of plans to use the protest as an avenue to unleash mayhem in the State.
Speaking at this week’s executive council meeting in government house, Yenagoa they called on the youths not to allow themselves to be used as tools by those politicians, stressing that security has been placed on high alert to arrest any unwholesome situation.
It was the 134th executive council meeting of the current administration presided over by Governor Douye Diri.

It was also an unusual day at the chamber as few minutes into the meeting , the cabinet members were joined by Chieftains of the All Progressive Congress APC in the state, including the minister of state for petroleum Heineken Lokpobiri and the former APC Governorship candidate in the 2019 Governorship election in Bayelsa, David Lyon.
The proposed nationwide protest against hardship suffered by citizens was top on the agenda.
The minister noted that his visit was to compliment the Governor’s efforts in sustaining peace and stability,
Both men while acknowledging the right to peaceful protest, however maintained that dialogue remained the way to go.
