Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia, has expressed satisfaction with the speed of the renovation work at the Aper Aku Stadium, Makurdi, the state capital.
The Governor who made an unscheduled visit to the Stadium is optimistic that the contractor will deliver the project within the next two months.
The Aper Aku Stadium which was an initiative of the first civilian Governor of the State and the home ground of the state-sponsored football club, Lobi Stars wears a completely new look following on going rehabilitation efforts by the State Government.
The contractor, Ebi Ezekiel promises to complete the project within the stipulated time frame to meet international standards.
When completed in eight weeks to meet world class specifications, it is expected that the 10,000-capacity stadium will be certified by FIFA to host international football events.
