In a significant development Monday, Kaduna State North West Nigeria was ablaze with protest as demonstrators expressed their discontent with Sunday’s nationwide broadcast of President Bola Tinubu.

Those who spoke to ait.live said the President fails to address the core issues.

In a dramatic display of unity, youth and persons with disabilities converged on the station roundabout on Monday to commence a peaceful protest.

The protest was initially orderly, but grew in momentum as the crowd moved towards the Central market and then to the NEPA roundabout.

The demonstrators, carried foreign flags as they match, appealing to a communist nation to intervene and save their country from its current turmoil.

The protesters voiced their dissatisfaction with President Bola Tinubu’s speech, delivered on Sunday, which they claimed failed to address their concerns and the nation’s pressing issues.

However, the peaceful demonstration was violently disrupted when looters infiltrated the march, breaking into public and private property, including banks, to steal and cause mayhem.

Security operatives intervened just in time, dispersing the chaotic crowd and preventing further destruction.

Despite their efforts, the violence resulted in the tragic loss of at least two lives, marking a dark turn in what began as a peaceful call for change.

In response to the escalating crisis, the government swiftly imposed a 24-hour curfew on Kaduna and Zaria metropolis, aiming to restore order and prevent further violence.

The streets of Kaduna now stand under heavy surveillance as security forces work tirelessly to maintain peace and protect citizens.

As the nation grapples with these challenges, the underlying issues remain unresolved, and the protesters’ determination suggests that this might just be the beginning of a prolonged struggle for change.
