Cross River State Commissioner of Police, Gyogon Grimah, has recommended that members of the Police Officers Wives Association, POWA, undergo basic combat training.
The goal is to equip them with the skills needed to support their husbands and manage their households during their absence.
Speaking at the 60th anniversary event of POWA at the Command’s Headquarters in Calabar, CP Grimah highlighted the vital role the women play in their families and the importance of their resilience against external challenges.
He praised their unwavering support and urged for increased collaboration among them to strengthen the Police Force and acknowledge the sacrifices made by their husbands.
POWA Chairperson in Cross River State, Julia Grimah welcomed the collaboration among members and the support from their husbands. She also called for continued peace and unity within the organisation, stressing the importance of collective effort in their roles.
