A cross section of Nigerians of Igbo extraction says the Igbos stayed away from the #EndBadGovernance protests because it was politically motivated against the government of President Bola Tinubu.
The people who spoke to ait.live in Umuahia the Abia State capital, however advised the federal government to take urgent steps toward alleviating the suffering of the people to prevent further violence protests in the country.
The 10-day nationwide #EndBadGovernance protest may have come and gone but, beyond the appeals made by some prominent south east leaders to the Igbos not to join in the protests, some of Igbo people said they stayed away from the protest because there was no genuine reasons for it despite suffering in the country.
They wondered why there was no such protests during the last administration even as the Nigerian constitution gives citizens the right to Protest.

For them, Igbos have always protested and are still protesting the imbalance in the distribution of political and economic power in Nigeria.
The people therefore cautioned government to realize that the Igbo people are very mindful of the possibilities of hijacking protests thereby undermining the intended purposes.
