President Mohammadu Buhari has reaffirmed the commitment of his administration to reviving the Nigerian Railway, which he says is aimed at reducing deficiency in the transportation sector.
The President said this during the groundbreaking ceremony of the Kaduna – Kano Rail Line, held at Zawachiki, Dawakin Kudu Local Government Area of Kano State.
President Mohammadu Buhari said, his administration is according much priority to the rail sector, geared towards improving the economic wellbeing of the country.

The Kaduna-Kano rail line is about 203 kilometers. It forms part of the Lagos- Kano rail line that would ultimately terminate in Maradi, in the Niger Republic.
When the Kaduna-Kano rail line is completed, travelers can move on a standard gauge rail service from Abuja to Kano.
Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State applauded the foresight of the federal government in reviving the rail sector.
The 203-kilometer rail line project is expected to be completed in the next 18 months.
