There is one Nigerian leader who strongly believes that utilizing natural gas to power the nation’s transportation industry is the next way to go, especially as Nigeria has huge reservoir of her own gas.

That leader is Nigeria’s number one citizen President Bola Tinubu and he is very confident that if the country works harder, productive and innovative, natural gas will be an economic game changer.

President Tinubu said this shortly after Monday’s Executive Council of the Federation meeting.

Rising from the Executive Council of the Federation meeting on Monday, President Bola Tinubu and his executive council members made their way to the forecourt of the Presidential Villa were hybrid buses were packed.

The buses, numbering 20 had the inscriptions, “donated to the Federal Governement by NNPCl” by Depot and Petroleum Products Marketers Association of Nigeria in fulfillment of a 2023 promise to the Federal Governement by the marketers.

The CNG buses manufactured by an indigenous private company innoson motors are intended to help alleviate the suffering of Nigerians who have had to put up with high cost of transportation across the country.

The Depot and Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria had shortly after the subsidy removal in June 2023 called for increased gas investments to provide an alternative to petrol use.
