Why President Tinubu appointed Dr. Nat Adojutelegan into RMFAC

President Bola Tinubu recently appointed 21 Nigerians as federal commissioners of the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission, RMAFC. One of them is Dr Nathaniel Adojutelegan from Ondo State, South-West Nigeria.

Dr. Adojutelegan who hails from Arigidi-Akoko, Akoko North West Local Government is a Solicitor-Advocate of the Supreme Courts of England and Wales with higher rights of audience. He serves as the managing partner of NatAdo Solicitors in London, UK.

Before proceeding to London for studies, the home boy attended St. Johns Mary Primary School, Owo, St. Patrick Primary School, Owo, and Government School, Owo between 1971 and 1976 for his primary education. He then pursued his secondary education at Christ School, Ado-Ekiti in present day Ekiti State from 1976 to 1981.

In 1987, he obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Benin and undertook his mandatory National Youth Service Corps, NYSC scheme in Abeokuta, Ogun State, in 1987-88. He held the position of Corps Liaison Officer, CLO and Chairman of the Ogun State Corps Liaison Officers.

Thereafter, he choose to read Law so he got the opportunity in the United Kingdom to obtain an Intermediate Laws qualification from the University of London, then Bachelor of Law, LLB, and the Master of Law, LLM from the University of Wolverhampton in 1995 and 1996 respectively.

In 1997, he completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice at the Guildhall University and then moved to the United States where he pursued his doctorate, Ph.D in Law and Policy at the Walden University.

On return to Nigeria, he served his people and became a grassroots politician actively participating in the 2014 primary election for the Ondo North Senatorial District. He contributed in no small measure to the success of the All Progressives Congress, APC in various elections, even as financier in his constituency and state.

This foundation member of the APC in Ondo State was notably involved in the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN which was one of the legacy parties that formed the APC ahead of the 2015 elections.

He was to later serve as Special Assistant to the Minister of State for Niger Delta Affairs from 2015 to 2016. He also held the position of Patron and member of the Board of Trustees for the APC National Integrity Group, and was a prominent member of the Grassroots Independent Campaign Council for the 2023 presidential election.

With the election of President Tinubu in the 2023 general election, Dr. Adojutelegan has been invited to represent his State and serve in the Renewed Hope administration.
