Rivers State Governor, Sim Fubara has declared that the state government will no longer approve the extension of the tenure of any retiring permanent secretary in the civil service.

He cautions that if such is allowed to continue, the morale of other rising civil servants qualified to fill the vacant positions will be affected, as there will no longer be opportunities for many of them to rise to the pinnacle of their careers.

Among the newly sworn-in permanent secretaries is the Government House compere Anthonia Ekiseh.

Governor Fubara wants them to see their appointment as a call to service, saying that he will not hesitate to kick out anyone found wanting.
