Bauchi State Police Command says security measures to ensure the safety of all citizens have been put in place across the 5013 polling units where Local government Elections will hold for the Chairmen and Councillors in Bauchi state aim to provide a fair environment for all political parties during the election process.
The command in a press release issued by the spoke person Ahmed Wakili said in Collaboration with other sister security agencies, significant number of personnel have been deployed to strategic places across the state in other to prevent any disruptions during the election and to also maintain public order and prevent potential disturbances.
He added that, vehicular movement will be restricted from 7:00 AM to 4: 00 PM on Saturday, with exemptions for essential services such as medical personnel, journalists, and emergency services.
While the Command empathizes with the inconveniences of these measures it urges all eligible voters to abide by the law and participate in the election without fear or intimidation. Says decisive action will be taken against any individuals or groups attempting to disrupt the peaceful conduct of the elections.
