Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia has disclosed plans to begin the rehabilitation of the J.S. Tarka Stadium in Gboko LGA with the aim of reviving the defunct BCC Lions Football Club.
Alia who made this known at a two-day workshop of the Media Directors of Nigeria’s Premier Football League, NPFL in Makurdi, the state capital pledged to elevate the state into a sports hub for the entire country.
NPFL Chief Operating Officer, Davidson Owumi highlights the aim of the summit which will among others equip the media officers with requisite knowledge to improve reportage of sporting activities.
President of the Forum of Media Directors of Nigeria’s 20 Premier Football League Clubs, Amos Eche acknowledged the developmental strides of the Governor particularly in the area of sports.
Highpoint of the event was the conferment of Grand Patron of the Forum on Governor Hyacinth Alia in recognition of his efforts in sports development.
The Media Directors equally appreciated him for graciously hosting the historic first summit of Media Directors of Nigeria’s 20 Premier Football League Clubs.
