Social analysts in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capitol have given thumbs up to the Social Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) for standing tall to question the National Assembly.
The organisation had called on the Senate President, Godwill Akpabio and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas to account for the day to day runnings of the National legislature.
SERAP has insisted that the leadership of both chambers of the Nigerian Federal lawmakers should disclose the actual amount of monthly running cost allocated to members of the National Assembly.
The analysts while commending SERAP for always fighting for justice urged the lawmakers to be transparent to Nigerians.
They urged SERAP not to relent in their fight against corrupt practices in the country.
ait.live reports that the request by SERAP followed a recent controversy surrounding the jumbo monthly salaries and allowances allegedly received by each lawmaker in Nigeria, at a time other citizens are facing sever economic hardships, food scarcity and skyrocketing prices of goods and services.
