Osun state said it has recorded one new case of Mpox in Ilesa local government area of the State.
The State Government declared this during a press conference held at the state secretariat in Osogbo on Monday.
The new confirmed case of Mpox on a 25year old male will be the second case from Ilesa West Local government this year as one case was recorded there in March.

The two cases have triggered the State government to activate Incident Management System, a coordinated effort involving multiple agencies to control the outbreak.
The team says it will ensure contact tracing and engage in public enlightenment on the preventive measures against new variant of mpox
The Osun state government said out of forty seven suspected cases of Mpox, only two cases were confirmed while the other forty five tested negative.
