The Peoples Democratic party PDP has alerted the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC of plans by two main opposition political parties in Edo state, the All Progressives Congress APC and the labour party to rig the September 21 Governorship election.
Addressing journalists in Benin city, the PDP state chairman Tony Aziegbemi revealed that intelligence unit of the party and the Asue/ Ogie campaign organization uncovered the plot.
The PDP state chairman Tony Aziegbemi is calling on INEC not to accept party agents from political parties that failed to upload their agents before deadline, which ended on July 30, 2024.
Aziegbemi also alleged plot by some politicians to recruit INEC staff in order to manipulate the process.
The party urged the independent national electoral commission to publish all accredited staff alongside their posting to enable them identify any anomaly that may occur during election.
