A devastating boat mishap has occurred on Saturday in Zindiwa river in Gamawa local government area of Bauchi state.
According to eyewitnesses, the boat carrying 10 people capsized but 7 persons were rescued by a brave team of nearby villagers while 3 are still missing.
According to the source the incident happened around 4 pm when the boat, crossing people as a result of the flood that cut off the major road, forcing people to use Boat to their destination.
Quick-thinking rescue team from the nearby village according to eye witnesses in the vicinity sprang into action, rescuing 7 people. However, 3 individuals remain unaccounted for, leading to frantic search and rescue operation.
The cause of the boat mishap is still unknown, but eye witnesses suspect possible overloading may have contributed to the tragedy.
