The Minister of state for Steel Development, Shuaibu Abubakar-Audu, says the federal government is planning to put in place a regulatory framework for the steel industry to ensure that the over $4billion worth of steel being imported into Nigeria is invested in local production.
The minister said this during the distribution of fertilizers and 4,000 bags of rice as palliatives to people in the 21 Local Government Areas of Kogi State in furtherance of the Renewed Hope Agenda on Food Security and Agricultural Production of the Tinubu administration.
The junior Minister told traditional leaders, government officials and other key stakeholders across the three Senatorial districts of Kogi State that the Tinubu administration was already working with foreign technical partners to revive the moribund Ajaokuta Steel plant in Kogi State.
The Minister assured the people of the federal Government’s commitment to reducing the hardship in the Country hence the distribution of the bags of rice and fertilizers to the people of Kogi State.
Prince Shuaibu Abubakar Audu commended youths in Kogi State for abstaining from the recent #Endbadgovernance protest and noted that dialogue remained the best option to resolve disputes both at the state and national levels.
