The Nigerian Army has reaffirmed its commitment to deploy all necessary resources in the fight against insurgency, banditry and other security challenges, threatening the nation’s peace and stability.

The Infantry Corps Commander, Major General Olufemi Oluyede, made this vow at the conclusion of the 2024 Training Week of the Nigerian Army Heritage and Future Centre, in Jaji.

It was specifically a three-day strategic military training session, involving 265 junior officers, which focused on command, leadership and ways of addressing the country’s security challenges

The officers were urged to step up their efforts, and propose innovative solutions, to help combat insecurity.

The Commander Infantry Corps, in a message delivered by the Director General of the Land Forces Simulation Centre, Major General Usman Yusuf, emphasised that identifying the country’s security challenges, must be followed by actionable solutions, capable of neutralising the threats.

He also highlighted that the Nigerian Army, long seen as the nation’s backbone in maintaining law and order has intensified its efforts to strengthen its ranks, ensuring that its personnel are fully equipped with the necessary tools and strategies to safeguard Nigeria’s territorial integrity.

The Army further stressed the critical role of its officers, describing them as the guardians of the nation’s sovereignty.

It urged them to take the responsibility seriously, and make meaningful contributions, towards addressing the nation’s security concerns.
