Africa Independent Television, AIT correspondent in Kwara State, North-Central Nigeria, Olufemi Akobi has for the second time in three years emerged the Best Broadcast Reporter of the Year at the Correspondents Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ in the State.
Akobi who is a graduate of Mass Communication from Kogi State University, Anyigba joined AIT in 2014. He has been described as a fearless and creative broadcast Reporter who won the same award in 2021.
Akobi has dedicated the award to the Management and staff of DAAR Communications PLC for the opportunity and support he has received in the course of his work.
The award was presented at the 2024 Press Week of the Correspondents Chapel of Kwara State Council of the NUJ in Ilorin.
Speaking on the theme “Fostering Good Governance through Effective Journalism” speakers called on Journalists to rededicate themselves to investigative journalism with a view to making public office holders accountable to the people.
