With less than two weeks to Edo State governorship election, the All Progressives Congress, APC candidate Senator Monday Okpebholo has pledged to address the casualization of teachers in schools.
Okpebholo made this commitment during a campaign tour of rural areas in Etsako East and Central Local Government Areas, where his visit was disrupted by gunfire at Ugbekpe Ekperi.
The candidate and APC leaders visited Agenebode, Okpella, and Imiegba in Etsako East, highlighting his five-point agenda and urging voters to support the APC.
In Imiegba, the hometown of the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs Abubakar Momoh, a large crowd of supporters waited late into the night to welcome Okpebholo and other prominent APC members.
The APC candidate, an information Technology expert says, he Would address the issues of casualization of teachers by the present administration when elected as governor.
The Okpebholo and Idahosa campaign team then moved to Etsako Central, visiting Ogbonna, Fugar, Udabi, and Ugbekpe Ekperi.
However, their rally at Ugbekpe Ekperi was interrupted by gunfire from unknown gunmen, Okpebholo condemned the violence and warned against any form of election-related violence.
Popularly called SMO , the APC candidate also promised to provide soft loans and farming tools to farmers in Etsako East and Central to enhance agricultural productivity.
