Nigeria-Tunisia Co-operation: Abuja Ready To Improve Trade Relations With Tunisia – FG

Nigeria’s trade relations with Tunisia is expected to reach a new height as the Federal Government takes further steps to improve commerce with the Maghreb nation.

Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Tuggar made the pledge while speaking at the opening ceremony of the Tunisia-Nigeria Economic Forum in Abuja.

The Minister, who spoke through the Director of Trade and Economy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Bolaji Akinyemi said Nigeria is ready for a robust engagement and collaboration as demonstrated by the administration of President Bola Tinubu.

He said the President is committed to economic diversification and growth through the initiation of policies and programmes that would boost foreign direct investments.

He expressed regret over the low volume of trade between the two countries despite their long-term relationship but expressed confidence that the visit of the Tunisian delegation to Abuja will improve trade relations.

The Ambassador of Tunisia to Nigeria, Mohsen Antit, said Tunisia looked Forward to initiative that would pave the way to further advance its relations with Nigeria.

Tunisia’s 20-member delegation is in Nigeria to explore and create various investment opportunities between both countries
